Wilson takes pitcher award

Paradise senior hurler Laura Wilson finished the season with a 1.70 ERA and 18 wins. She also struck out more than 220 batters.

{{{*}}}For her efforts, she earned the District 10-2A Pitcher of the Year award. She was one of six Paradise players to make the all-district team.

Seven Boyd players received all-league honors.

Godley senior Megan Campbell earned MVP.

Brock sophomore Haley Hardison took Offensive Player of the Year.

Boyd freshman catcher Savannah Foster garnered Defensive Player of the Year. Foster threw out eight of the 15 runners trying to steal off her. She hit .333 with 19 RBIs, nine doubles and a home run.

Paradise freshman shortstop Jett Preather earned Newcomer of the Year. Preather hit .386 with 22 RBIs, six doubles and two home runs.

Brock senior Sierra Potts was the Utility Player of the Year.

Paradise seniors Samantha Bednorz and Taelor Burns, junior Laney Campbell and freshman Shelby Lavigne made the first team.

Bednorz hit .315 with 15 RBIs. Burns batted .407 with 20 RBIs. Campbell compiled a .382 average with 20 RBIs. Lavigne turned in a .506 average with 30 RBIs.

Boyd placed three players – junior Shae Williams and freshmen Chandler Hammon and Chelsea Arlington – on the first team.

Williams hit .310 with 20 RBIs. Hammon batted .355 with 22 RBIs. She posted a 5-3 record with a 2.46 ERA pitching 42 innings.

Arlington went 7-3 with a 2.86 ERA in 63 innings. She batted .365 with 24 RBIs.

Boyd seniors Chelsea Landes and Brooke Barnett and sophomore Gabby Saldivar earned second-team spots.

Landes hit .306. Barnett posted a .294 average. Saldivar batted .333 with 17 RBIs.
