The Paradise Lady Panthers took a 1-0 lead into the fifth inning Thursday night in game one of their Class 2A Region II area series.

Tom Bean then exploded with seven runs in the inning to roll to a 7-1 victory at Lake Dallas.

The two teams will return to action Saturday at 12:30 p.m. Game three, if necessary, will follow.

Tom Bean tied the game on a squeeze bunt by Katie Jones. Then with two outs it scored six times.

Rachel Jones had a two-run double, Sarah Harris added an RBI-infield single, and the other runs came on three Paradise errors.

Jones scattered three hits and struck out 13 to go with one walk.

Samantha Bednorz doubled and reached base twice for the Lady Panthers. She gave Paradise the 1-0 lead, scoring on a wild pitch in the second inning.
