Northwest hosts the Midlothian Panthers Friday at 7:30 p.m.
This will be the first Texan game on a Friday after two Thursday night games to start the season.
The Texans are coming off a 28-7 win over Grapevine.Northwest’s defense was dominant, giving up only 156 yards of total offense to the Mustangs.
Northwest’s defense will be challenged against an improved Midlothian team. The Panthers have put up 84 points in their first two games.
Midlothian racked up 424 yards on the ground last week against Timber Creek.
Something will have to give as the Texans’ defense is only allowing an average of 10.5 points per game.
Offensively the Texans are averaging 315 yards per game. Dakota Chavis leads Northwest in rushing with 195 yards through two games.
Draze Lawliss has thrown for 346 yards and three touchdowns.
After a bye week, the Texans will begin a challenging district slate Sept. 28 against Keller.
