The Bridgeport Sissies cross country team returned to action Wednesday at the Perrin Invitational.
Bridgeport captured the overall team title.
“The kids did a fantastic job running with a herd of competition,” Bridgeport coach Dayna Hudson said. “There were 80 varsity girls running at the Perrin Invitational, so bringing home the first place plaque back to Bridgeport was quite an accomplishment. The varsity girls were led by some tough running from Sabrina Garza, Lacey Erwin and Lauren Stowers.”
Sabrina Garza led the way for the Sissies placing fourth in 14:25. Lacey Erwin took seventh in 14:44. Lauren Stowers finished 11th in 15:08. Elaina Payton was 12th in 15:14.
Felicia Coleman crossed the finish line as Bridgeport’s fifth runner in 15:15, for 13th place.
Elizabeth Wiedemann took 15th in 15:19. McKenna Myers ran 16:05 for 28th. Yesenia Santoyo placed 29th in 16:06, Landrie Walsh 30th in 16:20 and Allison Price 46th in 17:38.
Rogelio Galicio was the lone varsity boy, capturing 19th in 23:05.
