BIG WIN – Decatur brought home the Wise County Baseball Association’s 8-and-under title last month. The team coached by Brock Huggins, Thomas Houchin, Jason Sanders and Patrick Thomas defeated Paradise White 12-5 in the championship game. Decatur finished 16-0 on the season. The team included Zane Blythe, Hunter Huggins, Wesley Hornback, Braxton Osteen, Cody Murphree, Matthew Thomas, Carter Sanders, Eric Gregorie, Carson Wicker, Jace Mattison and Karter Houchin.

ATHLETICS PHYSICALS – Physicals for Bridgeport athletes will be offered Tuesday, July 24, at the high school training room. The cost is $20. Physicals for girls are at 5 p.m. and boys 6:30. All athletes entering seventh, ninth and 11th grades must have a new physical before the first day of practice. Athletes who have suffered a broken bone, concussion, major illness or had surgery in the past year must also have a new physical.

BRIDGEPORT YOUTH FOOTBALL – Registration for the Bridgeport Youth Football Association fall season for third through sixth graders is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, July 7 and 14, at the Bridgeport Stage. Cost is $125. For information, call Billy Young at (940) 389-5311.
