The Bridgeport Sissies cross country team placed eighth at the Brock Invitational Wednesday.
It was not the best performance for the Sissies, but with two weeks left before the district meet coach Dayna Hudson feels her team will be ready.
“These times were not our best, but the girls still worked hard on the course,” Hudson said. “The girls know that we are two weeks from district and we will be increasing our workout schedule for one week to get back to our old times then taper off for district week.”
Felicia Coleman led the way for Bridgeport in 29th with a time of 14:07. Sabrina Garza took 32nd in 14:13. Elizabeth Wiedemann captured 43rd in 14:42 and Lauren Stowers placed 45th in 14:44.
Lacey Erwin was the Sissies fifth runner in 14:45 for 46th.
Landrie Walsh finished 47th in 14:47. Elaina Peyton took 52nd in 14:59 and McKenna Myers 53rd in 15:05.
