The Bridgeport Sissies dropped their match to Wichita Falls Christ Academy, 19-25, 25-23, 25-23, 17-25, 15-17 Tuesday.
The loss drops the Sissies to 9-6.
“The match was close from start to finish,” Bridgeport coach Rebekah Cummings said. “We just gave up too many points in unforced errors. I can handle a loss like that when I see all the improvements the girls have made.”
Mariah Clayton led the Sissies with 16 kills, five blocks and an ace. Sabrina Mares finished with four kills, seven digs and three blocks. Tiffany Hawkins led in assists with 26. She also had six kills and 10 digs.
“Sabrina and Mariah played great at the net and got a lot of touches against a very quick offense. Tiffany Hawkins has been really key to the team’s success on both ends,” Cummings said.
The Sissies will play in the Jacksboro Tournament this weekend, before returning home Tuesday to host Millsap.
