Sissies dig in for success

The Bridgeport Sissies captured the consolation championship at the Cooke County Classic Volleyball Tournament Saturday.

Bridgeport defeated the S&S Lady Rams for the title, 25-13, 23-25, 25-16.

Mariah Clayton led the way with 10 kills and two aces. Tiffany Hawkins had 18 assists and four digs. Sabrina Garza and Payton Tucker each had five kills.

In the semifinal, the Sissies took down the Howe Lady Bulldogs, 18-25, 25-22, 25-14.

Clayton finished with 11 kills, two digs and two aces. Garza had seven kills, two digs and two aces. Hawkins added 24 assists, four digs and an ace.

In the first match of the day, Bridgeport lost to Pottsboro, 15-25, 18-25.

Clayton had six kills and two aces. Garza, Tucker and Skylar Shawn each had three kills. Hawkins added 16 assists.

The Sissies will travel to the Brewer Tournament this weekend.
