Red Oak shoots down Lady Eagles

The Decatur Lady Eagles placed sixth at the Denton Ryan Tournament over the weekend.

They began the tournament with a win over Norman High Friday, 25-13, 25-15, 25-14.

{{{*}}}Caroline Lowery finished with 11 kills, three blocks, an ace and an assist. Darci Billmire had six kills and two blocks. Makayla Mayfield added seven aces, and Stormi Leonard had 23 assists.

Decatur then defeated Denton High 23-25, 25-19, 22-25, 25-22, 18-16.

Cooper Martin led the way with 14 kills, four digs and an ace. Lowery finished with nine kills, one block, three aces and 12 digs. Mayfield had seven kills, two blocks and three aces. Leonard added 33 assists, eight digs and a block.

The Lady Eagles dropped their third match Friday to Highland Park, 20-25, 8-25, 9-25.

Mayfield finished with four kills and two blocks. Serena Estrada added nine digs and an assist. Leonard had five assists and two aces.

Decatur defeated Frisco Wakeland on Saturday, then fell to Red Oak in four games.
