Although he only played nine games, Alvord sophomore Joe Randall finished the season strong. His accomplishments were recognized this week when District 9-2A released its all-district football team.Randall was named as a first team running back and first team defensive back. He finished the season with 1,085 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. On defense he recorded 44 tackles, 21 assists, an interception and one knockdown. Randall was also recognized as a second-team punter.
Joining Randall on the first team as an all-district utility player was Casen Baker. He totaled 427 rushing yard and three touchdowns along with 153 receiving yards. Defensively he recorded 27 tackles, three for losses and one sack.
Jordan Locklear picked up second team tight end honors after also splitting time at quarterback. He finished the season with 136 passing yards and 31 receiving yards.
Joining Locklear on the second team offense is Justin Heap at offensive line and Ty Silvey at wide receiver.
Kane Rice and Benni Browne were named to the second-team defense. Rice as a defensive lineman recorded 34 tackles, 6 assists, one sack and had two fumble recoveries.
Browne had 60 tackles, 26 assists, one knockdown and one blocked kick.
