Rain delays 9-A title game

The Chico and Lindsay softball teams will wait three more days before meeting on the field for a third time to settle the right to represent 9-A as the the top playoff seed.

{{{*}}}Rain Thursday night and Friday morning canceled the game scheduled for Friday at North Central Texas College in Gainesville.

The two, who split their regular season matchups, will meet Monday at 4 p.m. in Bowie.

With a chance to clinch a share of the District 9-A title, the Lady Dragons didn’t mess around Tuesday against the Collinsville Lady Pirates.

The Lady Dragons (13-9, 7-1) scored seven runs in the second inning and added eight in the fourth to sink Collinsville 15-4 in five innings.

Chico outscored the other three teams in 9-A – Muenster, Valley View and Collinsville – 92-8.
