Panthers rip up Texans

The Northwest Texans fell to the Midlothian Panthers, 21-9, handing the Texans their first loss of the season.

The Texans (2-1) were unable to execute despite getting in the red zone three times.

Four and a half minutes into the second quarter, Midlothian (3-0) put the first touchdown on the board with a 48-yard run by Justin Seeton.

Northwest responded two minutes later with a 21-yard field goal by Cayden Ihrig.

Midlothian scored two more touchdowns in the third quarter. The first coming on a 14-yard pass by Bryce Fausett to Brenden Cornell with 8:30 remaining. Four minutes later, Justin Seeton ran the ball again for a 24-yard score.

Northwest picked up their lone touchdown of the night in the final quarter. Dakota Chavis caught a 39-yard pass from Draze Lawliss.

The Texans now head into their bye week with district play beginning Sept. 28.
