Panthers can’t catch a break

By Messenger Staff | Published Wednesday, October 3, 2012

The Paradise Panthers continue to search for that elusive first win of the season. With district beginning Friday, there is not a better time for it.

Paradise (0-4) hosts the Whitesboro Bearcats (3-2, 1-0) Friday at Panther Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The Panthers will be looking for their first victory during homecoming week.

Whitesboro is down from Class 3A for the first time and opened up District 5-2A Division I play last week with a 49-19 win over Ponder.

The Bearcats have also racked up wins against Aubrey and Bonham.

Whitesboro was a playoff team last season in Class 3A for the first time in school history. They fell to Van Alstyne in the first round.

Paradise will try to right the ship after a dismal pre-district run. The Panthers were outscored in their first four games by a 151-55 margin.
