Alvord was at full strength Friday for the first time since the first game of the season, but even that wasn’t near enough as the Bulldogs fell to Nocona 43-0.
Nocona rolled up 459 total yards of offense with 336 yards coming on the ground. The Indians’ defense, meanwhile, held Alvord to under 100 total yards for the game and recovered three Bulldog fumbles on the evening.
Tate Fenoglio got the Indians on the board in the first quarter on a 36-yard run for a 6-0 lead.
The Indians scored three times in the second quarter, including twice in the final minute on runs by Hayden Hill. Bryce Dingler added the other score to give Nocona a commanding 29-0 lead at the half.
Hill added another touchdown on a 1-yard run in the third quarter, and John Jennings scored on a 38-yard run in the fourth to complete the scoring.
Casen Baker led the Bulldogs in rushing with 54 yards on seven carries. Jordan Locklear was five for 10 passing for 25 yards. Ty Silvey caught three passes for 15 yards.
The loss drops Alvord to 1-6 on the season and 0-1 in district. They host Holliday next Friday.
