Making the grade

Monday two Chico Dragons were recognized on the Associated Press’ Class A all-state football team. Senior Dylan Hightower was recognized as a second team receiver/tight end.

Hightower was a three year starter for Chico playing running back, receiver and linebacker. He finished the season with 47 catches and 898 receiving yards. He also hauled in eight touchdown receptions. On the ground he rushed for 714 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Hightower’s quarterback Hunter York garnered honorable mention for the Class A team. In his senior year as the Dragon signal caller, York completed 168 passes for 2,631 yards and 27 touchdowns. He led the Class A Division I in passing yards.
