The Lady Texans dropped their first district match of the season to Keller Central Friday night 22-25, 25-22, 22-25, 15-25.
Both teams allowed the beginnings of each set to determine the winner of the game. Keller Central jumped out to an early lead in each of the three sets they won.
“We’re just making too many unforced errors and we’re not terminating the ball,” Northwest coach Dayna Horak. “Defensively, we’re hanging in there and we’re not scoring points on the offense.
“Tonight they kind of lost their composure and their focus”
The team was lead offensively by Brooke Berryhill with 14 kills. Tessa Harfield finished with nine kills. The defense was headed by Berryhill with 23 digs and Brooke Martin with 16.
“We let up and let them get ahead first and couldn’t come back from it,” said setter Jaxie O’Dell. “We just need to start strong next time.”
