The top three teams advance to the regional meet in Lubbock Nov. 3.
Northwest scored 47 points while the Lady Dragons picked up 25. Timber Creek scored 92 for third.
“We ran really well,” Northwest coach George Lutkenhaus said. “It was the best we had run all year. Southlake is the defending state champs, so we wanted to get as close as we could.”
Kellee McCann was the top overall finisher with a time of 18:13. Teammate Katherine Chavez picked up second in 18:14.
Southlake swept the next five spots, taking third through eighth positions.
Northwest’s next finisher was Taylor Bohr in 19:42, good for 10th. Ivy Diefenbach took 15th in 20:18.
Sydney Benes was the Lady Texans’ fifth runner to cross the line, in 19th place with a time of 20:30.
Micah Solomon placed 22nd in 20:39, and Deserae Kirkland was 28th in 21:28.
Zack Kirkland was the lone Texan to advance to the regional meet after an eighth-place finish in 16:11.
The Texans finished fourth as a team with 114 points. Southlake was first with 17, Timber Creek placed second with 60, and Keller took third totalling 82.
Ashton Shelton took 23rd for the Texans with a time of 17:21. Jacob Suchors finished 24th in 17:23, and Caleb Frandsen was 29th in 17:52.
Drew White was Northwest’s fifth runner, in 30th with a time of 17:53.
Jackson Miller captured 32nd in 17:59. Trenton Koestler ran 18:19 for 36th.
