Northwest (5-5) fell to Richland (5-5) in the first round of district play, and now both teams are tied for fourth place in district.
“I think our setters did a great job of moving the ball around and the hitters were playing smart,” said head coach Dayna Horak. “Brooke Martin did a great job. Our blockers did a great job. The kids looked real good.”
The Lady Texans offense was led by Brooke Berryhill with 12 kills. Jessica Sanders finished with nine kills and two aces. Brooke Martin had 14 digs and Berryhill added 30 more. Shelby Stinnett recorded 11 digs. Jaxie O’Dell had 18 assists and Kaylin Goss had 14. Stinnett also led the team in aces with three.
The Lady Texans face Haltom at home on Friday. Senior Night is Tuesday, Oct. 16, and it will be the final home game of the year.
