Lady Eagles start strong

The No. 3 Decatur Lady Eagles opened up district play with a victory over the Sanger Lady Indians Friday. Decatur swept Sanger 25-20, 25-18, 25-18.

The Lady Eagles (29-3, 1-0) were led by Caroline Lowery with 12 kills, three aces and 10 digs. Makayla Mayfield finished with 10 kills, seven blocks and 13 digs. Cooper Martin added eight kills, five blocks and four digs.

Darci Billmire recorded 14 blocks and five kills. Serena Estrada picked up 20 digs. Stormi Leonard handed out 26 assists.

Decatur hosts Bridgeport Friday.
