Lady Eagles keep momentum going

It has been another successful week for the Decatur Lady Eagles.

On Saturday they picked up the Graham Tournament championship after going undefeated. Then on Tuesday they cracked the TGCA state volleyball poll for the first time this season, landing at No. 6.

The Lady Eagles defeated Holliday in the championship game, 25-12, 25-17. Caroline Lowery led the way with nine kills, seven digs and an ace. Makayla Mayfield and Cooper Martin both finished with five kills. Katie Isham led in blocks with three and Stormi Leonard recorded 15 assists.

Decatur took down Abilene High in the semifinal 25-14, 25-18.

Martin led with eight kills, five digs and an ace. Leonard finished with five kills and 14 assists. Lowery had nine digs and Isham added five blocks.

The Lady Eagles took outlasted Denison in three games 25-22, 22-25, 25-19.

Martin had six kills, two blocks and four digs. Darci Billmire and Lowery both finished with five kills. Annie Parks added three aces. Leonard had 26 assists.

On Friday Decatur swept Wichita Falls High, 25-20, 25-17.

Mayfield had six kills, two digs and an ace. Isham led in blocks with six, and Lowery had five digs. Leonard recorded 15 assists.

In their second game Friday, the Lady Eagles defeated Seguin 25-22, 25-15. Martin and Lowery both finished with seven kills. Lowery also added three blocks and six digs. Serena Estrada and Taylor Uselton each had two aces. Leonard added 17 assists.

In their first game of the tournament Decatur took care of Burkburnett 25-12, 25-15.

Martin led with seven kills. Mayfield finished with four kills, three blocks and four digs. Kirstin Nanny added three aces. Leonard had 13 assists.
