Lady Eagles defend ranking

The No. 6 Decatur Lady Eagles defended their top-ten ranking Tuesday with two more victories.

The Lady Eagles picked up wins over Prosper and Kennedale in a dual match held at the Decatur gymnasium.

Decatur (14-2) took care of Prosper in its first match 25-20, 25-17, 20-25, 25-18.

Caroline Lowery led Decatur with 13 kills, one ace and nine digs. Cooper Martin nailed down 13 kills, one ace and recorded an assist. Makayla Mayfield added 11 kills, two blocks, three aces and 10 digs. Serena Estrada added 14 digs.

Stormi Leonard led in assists with 39.

In their second match the Lady Eagles disposed of Kennedale 25-17, 25-19, 25-17.

Mayfield led with 13 kills, a block, four aces and seven digs. Martin finished with 11 kills, five blocks and five digs. Lowery added four kills and six digs. Leonard led in assists with 19.

Decatur will return home to host Graham Tuesday at 6 p.m.
