Lady Bulldogs overtake tourney

The No. 2 Alvord girls took the Ponder Tournament over the weekend, picking up five wins in the process.

The Lady Bulldogs (6-1) defeated Saginaw 52-48 in the final game. Carley King had 15 points, and Ariel Rogers finished with 13. Lauren Hart added 10. Marissa Schedcik scored seven.

Alvord slipped by Lubbock Christian in the semifinal 48-46. Schedcik had 10 to lead the way. King added nine. Sam Hahn and Katie Claborn each had eight.

The Lady Bulldogs edged Ponder, 45-43. King put up 15, and Hart added 12. Schedcik tossed in eight.

Alvord took care of Sanger 55-44. King had 15, and Kala Cash finished with 13. Hahn added nine, and Rogers scored six.

In the opening round, the Lady Bulldogs took care of Gunter, 50-25. Hahn led the way with 14 and Schedcik had 11. Claborn and Hart each had six. King added five, and Kandi Rose tossed in four.
