Decatur alum Bill Holloway won a gold medal at the United States Police and Fire Championships bench press competition recently in San Diego, Calif.

Holloway, a 1981 Decatur graduate, works for the U.S. Border Patrol at its Imperial Beach Station.

After a successful football career at Decatur, he went on to play at Abilene Christian University.

He is the son of Carmelina and the late County Judge R.L. “Bob” Holloway of Decatur.

His siblings, Rosalinda Scott, Rachel Roberts and Bobby Holloway, cheered him on during the competition.
