Carnes earns three gold medals

Slidell senior Dylan Carnes won three gold medals Thursday at the District 14-A track and field meet.

Carnes picked up victories in the 800, 400 and 200. He will advance to Thursday’s area meet in Bryson.

He will be joined by five other Greyhounds.

Aaron Leak took first in pole vault and second in long jump.

Khristian Talamantes finished third in the 3,200 and 1,600.

Scott Bingham was third in shot put.

Jarrett Tinsman finished second in the 400 and fourth in the 800.

Chris Brown came in third in the 110 and 300 hurdles.

For the Lady Greyhounds, Caitlin Pruett captured gold medals in the 800 and 400.

Kayleigh Miller finished second in the 400.

Brooke Rhodes came in second in shot put. Lacey Edge claimed third in the 3,200.

Nicol Verdugo was fourth in the pole vault. Marisol Millan took fourth in the 100 hurdles.
