The Bridgeport Sissies rallied back Tuesday to get past the Boyd Yellowjackets in four games. Bridgeport took the match 16-25, 27-25, 25-11, 25-19. The win moves the Sissies to 6-3 on the season.
After the slow start, head coach Rebekah Cummings was happy with the way her team rebounded.
“We did a good job of pulling together and finishing strong,” Cummings said. ‘Defense has improved tremendously, and the hitters are getting more comfortable. Tiffany Hawkins did a great job of leading the offense.”
Hawkins led the team with 24 assists, seven kills, three aces and five digs. Mariah Clayton finished with 17 kills, seven aces, four blocks and four digs. Sabrina Garza added eight kills and three aces. Tylar Chapa picked up four kills and five digs.
