By Richard Greene | Published Saturday, April 21, 2012

The scenario the Boyd Lady Yellowjackets needed to keep their playoff hopes alive played out Tuesday.

The Lady Yellowjackets took care of Peaster 4-1 and Godley topped Brock 9-8.

Boyd went to Brock Friday for the District 10-2A finale with the winner earning the third and final playoff spot.

Needing a win Tuesday, Boyd jumped to a 4-0 lead with a pair of runs in the second and third innings.

Shae Williams and Gabby Saldivar drove in two runs each. Saldivar finished 2-for-2. Brooke Barnett and Chelsea Arlington added two hits each.

Arlington protected the lead in the pitcher’s circle. She held Peaster to one unearned run on five hits in seven innings of work. Arlington struck out nine and walked one.
