MILLSAP EDGES SISSIES

Millsap ruined Bridgeport’s season opener Tuesday, 38-35.

“Our young Sissies got off to a slow start in their first game of the season but we had a great fourth quarter defensively to give ourselves a chance,” Bridgeport coach Dallas Taylor said. “Ball possessions and rebounding hurt us in the final minutes of play.”

Bailey Thompson led the Sissies with 19 points and Sabrina Garza had six. Lauren Stowers added five.

VALLEY VIEW PASSES SLIDELL

The Lady Hounds had a rough start to their season Tuesday. Valley View picked up an easy 47-18 win. It was 26-0 before Slidell even got on the board and they trailed 34-3 at the half.

“We simply cannot play that poorly and expect to be competitive against anybody,” Slidell coach Cody Vanover said.

Caitlin Pruett had seven points and 12 rebounds. Ashton Stroope finished with five points. Kylie Franklin, Codi Crane and Fernanda Martinez each had two.

ARGYLE UPENDS ALVORD

The Alvord Lady Bulldogs dropped their season opener Tuesday, falling to Argyle, 56-43.

Argyle used a strong second and third quarter to pull away.

Carley King led Alvord with 18 while Katie Claborn finished with nine. Kandi Rose and Sam Hahn each added five. Kala Cash finished with four and Macy Pritchett tossed in two.
