VALLEY VIEW UPENDS SLIDELL

The Slidell Lady Hounds (4-5) fell to Valley View Tuesday, 45-31. Valley View (3-2) used a 15-point second quarter to pull away.

“We just aren’t playing good basketball right now,” Slidell coach Cody Vanover said. “We can’t seem to put four good quarters together. We have got a lot to clean up before the first district game in two weeks.”

Ashton Stroope led the way for Slidell with nine, and Marisol Millan had eight. Kylie Franklin finished with seven points and 10 rebounds. Jessy Goode tossed in four and Caitlin Pruett added three.

SLIDELL TAKES DOWN VALLEY VIEW

The Slidell Greyhounds dominated Valley View Tuesday, 65-37. Isaac Davis put up 22 points, eight rebounds and five steals. Trent Garrett had 16 points and 13 rebounds.

Tyler Maynard finished with 12. Scott Bingham added eight and Colton Perkins tossed three. Khristian Talamantes and Luis Castillo each finished with two.

TOP RANKED KRUM TOO MUCH FOR LADY BULLDOGS

The No. 1 team in Class 3A, the Krum Lady Bobcats, took care of the No. 6 team in Class 2A, the Alvord Lady Bulldogs Tuesday, 49-26.

Alvord (5-3) could not score more than seven points in any quarter as they found themselves behind, 26-14 at the half.

Carley King led the way for the Lady Bulldogs with 14. Sam Hahn added five and Lauren Hart tossed in four. Ariel Rogers added one.

Alvord will travel to Gunter on Tuesday.

DECATUR CRUISES PAST HENRIETTA

The Decatur Lady Eagles opened the first round of the Lindsay Tournament Thursday with a 62-30 win over Henrietta.

The Lady Eagles (5-3) ran out to a 19-3 lead at the end of the first quarter and led 36-12 at the half.

Murphy Graham had 12 points and four steals. Shelby Drews also ended with 12. Haley Dennard and Katie Isham both finished with six. Jasmyne Tate and Stormi Leonard each had five. Rebekah McGregor, Carlee Stapp and Makayla Mayfield all had four.

Decatur will conclude the Lindsay Tournament on Saturday.
