We would like to extend a sincere thank you for the article “Naked truth” in the opinion section of the Wise County Messenger (Bob Buckel’s column, Saturday, Sept. 29). As a non-nudist, his views are very enlightened, and we appreciate the fact that the Messenger went to bat for us and our group with the folks in Austin.

We are thankful that someone in Austin did their homework and reversed their decision. There was a time not long ago when the papers of North Texas would not run our ad just because it had the word “nudist” in it.

We have worked very hard for many years to educate the public about the difference between social nudism and “adult” or “sexually oriented” businesses. It is obvious that you truly understand what we are all about and for that we are grateful.
