Back photos, prose an inspiration

Thanks for the always mighty fine Messenger back page and the works of Joe Duty and Brandon Evans.

We folks hereabouts should all thank our lucky stars for being brought the joy that comes from the essays in picture and prose by this pair of outstanding newspapermen. Every time I see a copy of the paper in my mailbox or on a newsstand I reach for the issue and flip to your back pages for a helping of fresh delight.

Joe’s photography is both easy on the eye and awesome. Brandon’s writings bring my mind’s eye to breathtaking places.

I hope much of this work can someday grace the pages of a book we can send to friends far and wide and claim bragging rights to living in a community that contains such an exceptional treasure of talent.

Thoreau, if he were here, might have some pondering things to say about the inspirational back pages of the Messenger, but I’ll borrow from Brandon’s own pen to describe what he and Joe do; they “create something completely new and independent from all that made it.”
