WHAT COSTUMES ARE YOU OR YOUR KIDS WEARING FOR HALLOWEEN THIS YEAR?

“I’m gonna be a dad and walk around with the kids. My little girl is gonna be a sparkly witch, and my son is probably just gonna put a mask on. He’s 12 now, and he’s at that age now where ‘Am I gonna dress up? Am I not gonna dress up?’”

- Cesar Guerra, 43, of Arlington

“I was a Greek goddess last weekend. On Halloween one of my kids will be a leopard, and the other will be Eminem the rapper.”

- Keri Malone, 28, of Alvord

“We don’t do that. We don’t practice that. The origins of Halloween are Satanic. We don’t practice any of that stuff. It’s Satanic and my kids were raised not to do it, and they’re not doing it with their children either. We practice life every day.”

- Mike McInerney, 57, of Decatur

“We go to Victory Family Church and on that day we’re going to have a fall festival there. I won’t be wearing anything because I don’t dress up, but my son, he’s dressing up as The Turtleman. He goes in ponds and gets snapping turtles out of ponds. My son watches him on TV and likes that guy (The Turtleman, Ernie Brown, Jr., is the main character on Animal Planet’s “Call of the Wildman).”

- Adolfo Patterson, 25, of Decatur
