By Messenger Staff | Published Saturday, September 15, 2012

The Decatur water board Wednesday set the tax rate for the Wise County Water Supply District at 12.75 cents per $100 valuation, a one-quarter cent reduction from last year. The tax rate will fund a budget of $1,461,000 for the new fiscal year.

The water supply district is an entity of the city of Decatur and provides raw water from Lake Bridgeport to the water treatment plant in west Decatur. The district owns the raw water line, the water treatment plant and the pump station at Lake Bridgeport.
