Two men were seriously injured in a car accident north of Alvord Wednesday afternoon around 3.

Dillon Coslow, 19, was southbound on U.S. 81/287 when his pickup veered to the left for unknown reasons just prior to crossing the bridge over County Road 1590.

DPS Troopers said the pickup ran through the guardrail, down the embankment, across the street and up the embankment on the other side before coming to rest in the median of U.S. 81/287.

Coslow and his passenger, Bobby Brown, 45, of Fort Worth were flown to John Peter Smith Hospital with “traumatic injuries,” according to the police scanner.

The southbound lanes of traffic on the highway were rerouted to the service road, but the road was reopened just before 4 p.m.
