TDA applicator testing Wednesday, Sept. 26

Testing for the Texas Department of Agriculture pesticide applicator licenses is Wednesday, Sept. 26, at the Wichita County Extension office, on the second floor of the county courthouse annex (600 Scott St.).

The testing is for all classes – private, commercial and non-commercial.

Commercial and non-commercial pesticide applicator exams begin at 9 a.m., and applicants are required to test in general, laws and regulation and subject area. General and laws and regulations exams are free, but cost is $24 per subject area. Subjects include field crop pest control, weed and brush control in pasture and rangeland, ornamental and turf pest control, right-of-way pest control, aerial, vector (mosquito) and aquatic plant and animal pest control.

A required training for a private pesticide applicator’s license is 8 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, with testing immediately following. Cost is $50. Pre-register at (940) 716-8610.

The final 2012 date for general pesticide applicator testing in Wichita Falls is Nov. 28. In 2013, testing will be held the fourth Wednesday of every other month beginning Jan. 23.
