Christmas spirit was in abundance through downtown Bridgeport Saturday during the “Home for the Holidays” event.

MERRY AND BRIGHT – The Babe’s Chicken bus was one of 19 entries in the lighted Christmas parade through downtown Bridgeport Saturday. The parade marked an afternoon and evening of activities as part of the city’s Home for the Holidays event that also included pictures with Santa, wassail tasting, merchant specials and contests. Winners of the wassail tasting were Dave Correll State Farm (first); Terra Cotta (second); and Atomic Rooster (third).
A lighted Christmas parade marked the evening’s activities. Winners were the City of Bridgeport’s Ms. Twister’s Christmas Campout (community); Rick’s Auto Repair and Towing – Playtime at the Park (business); Cub Scout Pack 194 – Santa’s Cub Scout Workshop (non-profit); Sally Luxton in her 1956 Chevy representing the Center for Animal Research and Education (decorated vehicle); and Wimberlee Joe riding her early present from Santa, Tonto (equestrian).
