Department of Public Safety Trooper Jason Reyes released over the weekend the names of all three people killed in a helicopter crash last week in Central Texas.
As previously reported in the Messenger, the accident took the life of Rusty Aaron, 26, of Decatur. The other two victims were pilot Chester Monroe, 35, of Seguin and Kaci Fairchild, 29, of Harwood.
Aaron and his companions rented a Robinson R44 helicopter from Veracity Aviation Thursday night, and according to Chief Deputy Matt King of the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, they were flying from Midland to Seguin, stopped to refuel in Fredericksburg and crashed shortly thereafter on a private ranch in northern Kendall County.
The accident is under investigation of the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration. No information about the cause of the accident is available at this time.
