Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged two more men in connection with the murder of 34-year-old Earnest Lackey, of Burleson, whose body was found hidden and decomposing in the woods south of Newark on Aug. 2.
Lackey was allegedly beaten and tortured to death by at least three men at a trailer home near the south end of Eagle Mountain Lake in July. Investigators took various tools from the home possibly used in the beating and torture, including vice grips, screwdrivers and knives. One witness told investigators a power drill was used at one point in the deadly assault that lasted “until morning.” Lackey was found decomposed and wrapped in carpet a few weeks after the alleged murder.
Ronnie Wayne Freeman, 32, who lives at the trailer, was the first one charged with murder. Deputies have since arrested Jimmy Lee Riddle, 42, of Euless, and Staten William Corbett, 45, of Haltom City. Both have been charged with murder.
It’s also been alleged that the three men were connected to a white supremacist group. One witness told investigators the men might have tortured and killed Lackey because he falsely bragged of being a member of the racist group.
Riddle and Corbett also go by the pseudonyms of “Jimbo” and “Monster.”
As of Tuesday afternoon, all three were still in Tarrant County Jail in Fort Worth under a $100,000 bond.
