The Coal Miners’ Heritage Festival is Saturday on Halsell Street in Bridgeport.

The schedule for the day-long event is as follows:

• 9:30 a.m. – Bridgeport Rocks 5K Run/Walk winners announced
• 10 a.m. – Pet parade registration
• 10:15 a.m. – Pee Wee Bulls Black cheerleaders perform
• 10:30 a.m. – Pet parade
• 11 a.m. – Fall Favorites Cooking Contest judging
• 11:30 a.m. – Midget Bull Maroon cheerleaders perform
• 11:45 a.m. – High Noon Hot Dog Eating Contest registration
• noon – High Noon Hot Dog Eating Contest, Pumpkin Patch pageant registration at Bridgeport Stage
• 1 p.m. – Pumpkin Patch pageant, wing eating contest at Atomic Rooster, Midget Bulls Black cheerleaders perform
• 1:30 p.m. – Carolyn Moore performs
• 2 p.m. – Fall Favorites Cooking Contest winners announced, Brian Jones performs
• 2:30 p.m. – Coal Miners’ Heritage Dolls winners announced, Kate Cowling performs
• 3 p.m. – Motorcycle judging, Pee Wee Bulls Maroon cheerleaders perform, Susan Miller perfoms
• 4 p.m. – Great Bowls of Fire Chili Cookoff tasting and judging begins, motorcycle show winners announced, Fezzant performs
• 5:30 – Pat Waters performs
• 6:30 – Chili Cookoff winners announced

The festival is hosted by the Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce, Bridgeport Historical Society and Bridgeport Main Street. The public is invited.
