Weatherford College’s production of “Hello, Dolly!” will take to the stage Thursday, Nov. 15, through Sunday, Nov. 18.
The popular, award-winning Broadway play (with Carol Channing as the most memorable Dolly) and later a movie version starring Barbra Streisand, is the enchanting story of Dolly Levi, a meddlesome widow who seeks to “matchmake” several couples and even herself in New York City in the 1890s.
Although there is no charge for admission, voluntary donations of canned goods and pet food, which will be given to local charities, are requested. Show time is 7:30 p.m. each evening and 2 p.m. for the Sunday afternoon performance at the Alkek Fine Arts Center, 225 Campus Drive, in Weatherford.
Dolly is portrayed by Lana Robinson, and Ernestina is played by Lisa Cockerell. Ambrose Kemper, Dwayne Holmes and Duncan Alexander are Horace Vandergelder.
Director is Nancy McVean, technical director is Joseph Nicikowski and musical director is Rob Laney. Costumes are by Diane Simons.
