The Wise County Messengerinvites readers to bring their ghouls and goblins by the office Halloween night to have their photo taken by Joe Duty.

He’ll be set up 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 115 S. Trinity in Decatur.

Traditional trick or treating will be held in towns around the county that night, but there are a variety of organized events to guarantee optimal candy collection.

HALLOWEEN PARTY – Elementary-aged children are invited to the Decatur Public Library’s Children’s Halloween Party at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31. Come in costume for stories, activities and trick or treating. Call the library at (940) 393-0290 for more information.

HAUNTED HOUSE – Alvord Project Graduation Class of 2013 Haunted House is 6:30 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the old Alvord Middle School, behind Alvord Express. Admission is $5.

HAUNTED MAZE – The Get Lost maze in Greenwood will be haunted 6 p.m. to midnight Wednesday, Oct. 31. Admission is $10. Kids age 5 and under are free. The last ticket is sold 30 minutes before closing. Go 11 miles north of Decatur on Farm Road 51, just past the Farm Road 1204 turn off.

COSTUME PARADE – “Suit Up and Say Boo” costume parade and trick or treating is Wednesday, Oct. 31, down Halsell Street in Bridgeport. Participants will meet at the Duckwall’s parking lot at 5 p.m. For more information, call (940) 683-3400.

INDOOR ACTIVITY – Governor’s Ridge Retirement and Assisted Living will host an indoor fall festival 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 300 E. Deveraux in Decatur. Attendants are encouraged to wear costumes. There will be food, games, candy and prizes.

FALL FEST – First Baptist Church of Chico will host a Fall Fest for all community children 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31. The free, safe event will be in the north parking lot of the church and will include Trunk or Treat, face painting, ring toss, a bounce house, cupcake walk and hot dogs.

TRUNK OR TREAT – First Methodist Church of Bridgeport will host a Trunk or Treat 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, in the Bridgeport Middle School parking lot. There will be trick or treating, face painting, games, a cake walk, hay ride and bounce house.

FALL FUN – First Baptist Bridgeport will host a Family Fun Fall Fest 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, in the Family Life Center. Attendants are asked to wear their costumes. GAMES AND MORE – First Baptist Church of Decatur will host Truck or Treat 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31. There will be hayrides, games, prizes, hot dogs and of course, candy.

PLENTY OF TREATS – The First Baptist Church of Boyd is having Trunk or Treat 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31. There will be treats, hot dogs, drinks and carnival games.

MORE CANDY – The Rhome Parks and Recreation Committee is hosting trick or treat 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Family Park, 400 Virginia Lane.
