GCISD placed Jones, the Colleyville Heritage High School freshmen counselor, on administrative leave Aug. 10 after Trophy Club Police Department notified the district of the investigation.

An official statement released by GCISD communications officer Megan Overman said “Trophy Club PD have confirmed that the alleged misconduct did not occur on school property and that no other students related to CHHS are involved … GCISD is cooperating fully with the Trophy Club police on this matter.”

In a statement issued by Northwest ISD, Director of Communications Lesley Weaver said, “Northwest ISD is concerned about allegations against Mr. Kerry Jones. Northwest ISD is cooperating fully with law enforcement authorities and its investigation.”

In compliance with laws pertaining to board service, Jones “has the legal right to continue service on the board during this time,” the statement said.

Jones, who has a master’s in education and counseling and a principal certification, was elected to Place 6 on the board in May 2011.

The investigation is ongoing, and Jones has not been charged with a crime.
