The Alvord ISD board of trustees approved four student transfers Thursday night – the highlight of a meeting that was brief and mostly routine.

Superintendent Bill Branum said the four students from Chico and Bridgeport were OK’d to attend Alvord ISD.

The only other regular agenda item was a policy update from the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) relating mostly to employment practices such as renewal and non-renewal, student grading and promotion practices and conflict-of-interest form revisions.

That first of two required readings was unanimously approved by board members, who also handled minutes, monthly bills and the tax collection report on their consent agenda.

The board also heard routine reports from principals and the superintendent.

There was no closed-door session.
