Willie “Bill” and Emma Jean Oates of Aurora will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Nov. 10, with a reception 2 to 4 p.m. at the Boyd Church of Christ fellowship hall.

Bill Oates and the former Emma Jean Roberts were married Nov. 10, 1962, at the Wise County Courthouse after dating only three months.

They have two sons, Willie Oates and Timothy Oates, both of Aurora; and six grandchildren.

Bill works on the dock for Roadway, and Emma Jean works for Northwest ISD.

The are both members of the Church of Christ.
