Jimmy and Joyce Kirk of Decatur celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a surprise party hosted by their children at Smithfield United Methodist Church Oct. 7.

Jimmy and the former Joyce Hodges were married Oct. 12, 1962, at Riverside Baptist Church in Fort Worth.

They have a daughter, Rene Egle and husband, Roger, of Decatur; and two grandchildren, Clayton Kelly, 15, and Emily Nicole Egle, 13.
