Garry and Joan Reeves of Decatur will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at the Decatur Civic Center.

Garry and the former Joan Ballance were married Dec. 24, 1962, in St. Louis, Mo., while Garry was on leave from the U.S. Navy.

They have two children, Yvette Lewis and husband, Bruce, of Paradise, and Todd Reeves and wife, Shea, of Justin; six grandchildren, Brittany Lewis, Blake Lewis, Miranda Ewing, Nikki Reeves, Merry Reeves and Jacob Reeves; and two great-grandchildren, Lily and Sarah Karadimas.

Garry is retired from American Airlines, and Joan works part time as a beautician.
