Jason and Sarah Carter of Boyd announce the birth of a son, Jaxon Ray, on Dec. 12, 2012, at Wise Regional Health System in Decatur. He weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces and was 19 inches long.

Grandparents are Marty Kirk and Kathy Colvin of Oklahoma, Randy Carter of Texas and Deana Gerhgard of Florida.

Great-grandparents are Carmen Carter, Florence Choatey, Lee Gerhard and Juanita Wilson.

Great-great-grandparent is Lucille Childers.
