ROBOTICS TEAM – Slidell High School robotics team placed 10th at a recent contest. Team members include (front) Sarah Beavers, (back, from left) Cole Tivis, Alex McCullough, Heyden Crane, Jason Fuller, River Koon and Shelby Vanover.
This year’s challenge was called “Warp XX” and was based on the idea of the space elevator. Each team designed a robot to climb a simulated carbon nanotube and move various items from a platform to a midpoint station at the top of a steel C-channel. This was the first in many years that the robots weren’t running on the ground. They ran vertically.
