NORTHWEST ISD 2012 BOND REFERENDUM – Election day polling locations and a schedule of presentations for the 2012 bond election are available at www.nisdtx.org/bond2012. The site includes bond information at-a-glance, an overview of projects, a review of past bond elections and a gallery of photos and videos. Check out the latest “Got Growth?” video on Northwest Educational Television for details on completed projects and upcoming construction, pending the outcome of the 2012 bond election. What will this bond election provide for your child’s campus? Specific details on the impact for your school and feeder zone can be found on the website.
Election day is Nov. 6. Early voting is Oct. 22 through Nov. 2. In order to vote, you should register 30 days prior to the election. To confirm your voter registration or learn more about upcoming elections, go to votetexas.gov. Voter registration cards for Denton and Tarrant counties are available at most NISD schools.
UNITE FOR FUTURES RALLY IN NISD – Learn how to become more involved in the school district with the Unite for Futures Rally 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Administration Building.

SEPTEMBER BOARD MEETING – The Northwest school board meets 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at the Administration Building, 2001 Texan Dr. in Fort Worth.
EARLY RELEASE OCT. 5 – Northwest ISD will dismiss early Friday, Oct. 5, at the following times:
- Elementary schools – 12:15 p.m.
- Steele Accelerated High School – 1:05 p.m.
- Northwest and Byron Nelson High Schools – 1:15 p.m.
- Middle schools – 2 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 8, is a student holiday. Classes resume Tuesday, Oct. 9.
NHS CHEERLEADERS HOST GOLF TOURNAMENT – Northwest High School cheerleaders will host the fifth-annual golf tournament Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Marriott Hotel and Golf Course at Champions Circle.

CHILD ABUSE AWARENESS – Northwest ISD is offering a parent-education opportunity to address child abuse awareness 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, in the Northwest ISD Administration Building Board Room.
FALL CRAFT SHOW – The Northwest High School Baseball Booster Club is holding a Fall Craft Show 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, in the Northwest High School cafeteria, 2301 Texan Dr., in Justin. Admission is one canned food item to benefit Communities in Schools.
