For the first time, the Northwest ISD fifth-grade honor choir has been invited to perform at the 2013 Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Convention in San Antonio. The concert is 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14.

The 90-member choir, representing students from all 16 Northwest elementary schools, was selected for this honor through a statewide audition process. Only five elementary choirs in the state of Texas are selected each year.

TMEA is the largest music organization of its kind in the nation, with more than 11,000 members worldwide.
