Blake tops Boerne High School

Jayci Danielle Blake, granddaughter of Ann and the late Charles (Chock) Kaker of Bridgeport and Dan and Brenda Blake of Justin, graduated as valedictorian of the class of 2012 at Boerne High School.

Blake is the daughter of Dan and Sharon Blake of Boerne. Her mother was the valedictorian of the Bridgeport High School class of 1985.

Blake was involved in theater productions, track, varsity basketball, varsity golf, executive and student council (president), National Honor Society and tutoring.

She was recognized with the school spirit award, valedictorian award, Student Council Legacy award, Science Award, Math Award and the Outstanding Senior Girl Award. She also received AP Scholar recognition and was named outstanding senior in the greater San Antonio area by the San Antonio Express-News. Blake was a member of the homecoming court and was senior prom queen.

She will attend the Dwight Look College of Engineering Scholars program and honors college at Texas A&M University to pursue a degree in chemical engineering. She has earned the following scholarships: President’s Endowed Scholar, Foundation Excellence Award, Texas A&M Community Connections, the Opportunity Awards, the Society of Woman Engineers, the Anita Branch Trust and the Hill Country Aggie Club.

She has also been selected to become a scholar in the American Chemical Society Scholars program.
